Sophie is a stunning husky around 2 years old. She was surrendered to a small shelter and would have been euthanized if not pulled for rescue.
Sophie came to us and immediately went into heat. We are not completely sure of her true personality as she went through a huge life disruption and then also became hormonal.
What we have observed so far is typical husky behaviors. She is sweet, playful, treat motivated, and walks well on a leash. She was house trained while her foster had her. She knows how to sit and seems interested in training. Sophie is also an escape artist and does not like to be crated. She will need to be worked with as she can be destructive if left out. She is doing well in a small indoor run at boarding.
She was in a home with an older puppy, and initially did well outside with him. She was eventually moved to boarding as she was guarding her resources from him and acting adversarial. We did not want to risk him getting injured. We are hopeful these behaviors are related to her heat cycle.
Sophie is looking for a husky savvy home. She needs someone to continue her training, give her plenty of exercise, and challenge her mind. We feel she would do best in a home without small children. She has not been cat tested.
Sophie will come spayed, UTD on shots and preventative, and micro chipped.
Sophie ‘s adoption fee is $250, and adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad City Area.
