Silas is a 2 year old, energetic, unworked with doodle mix. He is not hypoallergenic and does shed.
Do you want personal space? Because Silas does not believe in personal space. He’s a 56 lb lab dog snuggle bug. He is a bit of an escape artist. So either a tie out or a well fenced in yard would be ideal, a chain link fence is questionable with this guy. He will not poop while on walks, he needs some privacy, so the dog park, fenced in yard or a tie out, are a must unless you like accidents! This is not an apartment dog! He has lots of energy, so an active adopter would be ideal. He does jump on people a bit, so that should be taken into consideration for the right fit for your family. I think with a tad of training and consistency, he would be able to learn better manners. He has already learned to sit and give paw, for a treat.
Silas was originally given up because he was escaping from his outside pen. It is possible he was an outside dog which would explain why he isn’t the most mannerly boy! Anyone looking to adopt this boy must be committed to his grooming and exercise needs, as well as continued training.
Silas is UTD on shots, preventative, micro-chipped, and neutered!
Silas’ adoption fee is $250, and adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad City Area.
