LECLAIRE — Bier Stube went to the dogs Sunday as hundreds of people and their canine family members enjoyed perfect weather, a perfect river view, food, drinks and a chance to win prizes while helping a doggone good cause.

The seventh-annual Dogtoberfest outside the bar and restaurant on Canal Shore Drive in LeClaire raised money for the Crow Creek Dog Park in Bettendorf. Organizers estimated more than 500 people and their pets attended Sunday’s event, the fourth in LeClaire after three years at Moline’s Bier Stube.

Brenda Perry, of Hampton, brought her pit bull Dora, who sported a seasonal orange-and-black, pumpkin-themed sweater. She said they use the Bettendorf dog park “all the time.

“It’s just a great way to socialize your dog,” noting Dora came from K9 Kindness Rescue. “She’s super-friendly. She’s the friendliest dog I’ve ever had.”

Ms. Perry said Dora “absolutely loves” the dog park. “She can recognize when we get off (Interstate) 80, that we’re getting close.”
