Say hello to Gator ! He is only 2 years old, and don’t let the name fool you, just a big, lovable, gentle giant.
He came from life on a chain. This poor guy was chained outside to a dog house in Iowa during the polar vortex we had several weeks ago. A kind animal control officer rescued him from that life and we were able to pull him from the shelter.
Gator wants and deserves to be a special member of the family where he will be loved, spoiled, and snuggled. Gator’s foster family is working on perfecting the sit, down and stay commands. He will need a family willing to continue to work on his manners and training since he isn’t used to being in a house.
He is currently living with other dogs and kids. He gets along with one of his fur siblings very well. Two of the other fur sisters aren’t his biggest fans. He is not used to having to share his food or toys, which means food needs to be kept separate.
He loves stuffed toys, FOOD, and will literally fall to the floor when he gets butt/hind leg scratches.
Gator is UTD on shots, preventative, micro-chipped, and neutered!
Gator ‘s adoption fee is $250, and adopters must live within 175 miles of the Quad City Area.
