Petfinder Courtesy Listing Policy

K9 Kindness Rescue, Inc. will list dogs on, as a courtesy, for the current owners If the dog is spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations and heartworm negative.

Our Policies For Courtesy Listings

In order to list a dog we need the following:
  • A biography or information about the dog so we can write a biography of it. Include the age and breed of the dog, if the dog is up to date on shots, spayed/neutered, gets along with kids, cats, and other dogs. Also include things the dog likes. Does the dog walk well on a leash? Know any tricks or commands? Like to fetch? Like to swim? Housetrained? Where does the dog normally like to sleep?

  • 5 GOOD pictures of the dog (we can resize them if necessary).

  • The owner’s or contact person’s name, home address, email address, phone number(s).

  • You may choose from the following options as to how your pet is listed:

    1. All inquiries about the dog will go straight to the current owner or contact person. You may use our adoption application. However, meeting potential owners, screening, checking references, etc, will be the responsibility of the current owner or contact person, not K9 Kindness. The current legal owner of the dog is free to collect whatever fee he/she chooses to ask of the new owner.

      • K9 Kindness Rescue, Inc. will list dogs for 30 days. If the owner would like us to list longer, we will do so up to 90 days.
      • We reserve the right to remove at our discretion, any dog from our listings at any time.

    2. All inquiries about the dog go through us. The current owner acts as a foster for his/her dog and signs an Owner Release Form. Copies of the dog’s vet records will be supplied to the rescue.
K9 Kindness will do the following:

      • Email out applications to potential adopters (current owners will be responsible for setting up times for potential adopters to meet the dog, much like our regular foster homes would).
      • Do reference checks on potential adopters.
      • Do home visits on potential adopters.
      • Pay for any vetting necessary for the dog.
      • Use our adoption contracts. It states that if the new owner cannot keep the dog, it will be returned to K9 Kindness. We will collect our normal adoption fee of $195. There will be no monetary compensation to the previous legal owner of the dog.

While we do not list dogs on that are not up to date on vetting, we may still be able to email information about the dog out to other rescuers. Pictures, a biography and contact information for the legal owner of the dog is necessary for us to do this.
